Grant's Golf Event

Grant had his first golf event in Indianapolis, and he did a great job.   His goal was to have fun and that's exactly what he did.   He was in a foursome with 3 other boys his age (6 and 7) and referred to them as his teammates which was really funny.

Grant's first drive from the tee station went 100 yards and then made it to the green in three total shots (hitting the pin on his third shot) and putted three times for a 6.   The second hole, he had a great drive and then struggled to the green in five shots and then he two-putted for a 7.  At this point, I was thrilled for him, because I just wanted him to get below 30, but he was on his way to shooting a 20.   His final hole, he drove the ball 75 yards and then hit his 8 iron 65 more yards to the front of the green.    He managed to 7 putt... let me say this again... 7 putt for a 9.   He ended his day with a 22 which was great.

Out of all the sports that Grant has played, he loves golf the most.  I was proud of him because he had a positive attitude and never got frustrated once.    Thanks to Uncle Andrew and Uncle Pete for helping Grant with his golf game.   One last note, Grady was "chomping at the bit" to get his turn to play in a golf event.  He kept saying, "Dad, when will I be 6 so I can play".

I love it! My brothers are both golfers and I always make them teach me a little bit.

I love to watch kids find something they truly enjoy...such a blessing.
