She's Right!

Joanna is right! I am a total blog slacker! In fact, Gerald has done the last two posts because I am just such a slacker right now!! I even have a post from February 9th that I just never did, but I need to because it was hilarious and it needs to be documented! So here is a post dedicated to our play date with Jo Jo and her kids and the one from February 9th! It's double the fun!!

So, a few weeks ago(Joanna makes fun of me for saying this) we had a play date with Joanna, Nolan, Ian, and Myla! In true Joanna fashion, we started the day off with shopping at a boutique! Then we picked up Qdoba and brought it home. Joanna wanted to buy a brownie at Qdoba, but just like I do with my kids, I told her to put it back down and we would make brownies at home!! :) Seriously, those things cost more than an entire box of brownies! So now you know that I am cheap, she is not! I am a blog slacker, she is not.... Yep, we are opposites! That's why we get along so well! We came home and ate our yummy food, the kids played in the basement, we made brownies, and had a lovely visit! Joanna even swept my floor and dusted my table(don't tell Chris she can clean!!)! ;) We shared many, many laughs(she is the funniest person I know!!) and the kids all got along so well! It was a dream date! :) Thanks guys for the fun! We are ready to do it all again!

Gilli and Myla are opposites too! Myla would smile and squish in for the picture and Gilli wanted her space and was just so serious!
Ian is the most squeezable kid on earth! LOVE him!
Grant wanted his favorite tractors in his picture during Joanna's photo shoot!
Grady and Nolan are a couple of hams!
Moms gone crazy!!

Part 2 of my blog slacking...
In February when grass was still just a distant dream, I let the boys go out and play on the back patio with their big wheels. It was an unusually warm day for February, so it was perfect for playing outside! They had to stay on the small patio because the back yard was entirely mud! After several times of me yelling out the door, "Guys, stay out of the mud!" I was done. Grant was upset, though, because his flag from his big wheel had blown out into the yard(muddy field). I told him to go ahead and get it since he was already muddy. I went in to start cleaning Grady up and a minute later I hear Grant screaming and crying. I ran outside to see him stuck in the mud past his ankles. I started laughing hysterically because he could not move. Grant was not amused so I ran to get Gerald's crocs so I could wear them on my rescue attempt! I ran out into the yard to rescue Grant, and now I am stuck in the freezing mud up to my ankles and I now know why Grant is crying! It is so cold! Then Grant starts laughing hysterically too! About this time we see Gerald running outside on the road behind our house. I start screaming, "Help, we are stuck!!!" Gerald is wearing headphones and cannot hear us at all and does not understand that we are stuck! He just waves and turns the corner to run down the road! Grant and I then look at each other and laugh hysterically again!! So I slip out of Gerald's crocs and run over to Grant. I pull his legs out of the mud and tell him to run for the patio! He makes it. Whew!! I then have to go back out and dig 4 crocs out of the mud with my hands! Then I go to rescue the darn flag that caused this mess. Did I mention that I was FREEZING?!!!! I then yell to Grady to get towels, so that Grant and I can step on them and wiggle our way to the mud room where there is a sink. Ahhhh, I love my mud room and now know why they call it a MUD room!!! HA!
Crocs were made for boys and mud!! :)
I shudder when I look at this mud yard! It's a mom's nightmare!!
Grant's feet are cleaned up, but mine are still covered in mud!
Love, love, love this big sink in the MUD room!! It makes me happy!
Ahh, I am all caught up through February! It feels so good! ;) Thanks for calling me out, Jo!

I probably should be more cheap...but I'm learning! I bake my own kid's birthday cakes now. That's a good start, right? Anyway, thank you, Gretch, for the sweet post and for telling me I'm right. That's always nice to hear. HA HA! Glad you finally posted your funny mud story from February. You're almost caught up! :) Let's get together soon. I miss you, Gilly, and all your boys...even that mean hubby of yours. (Waah haa haa).

XOXO...

That is the funniest story! In the moment, I think I might have forgotten my sense of humor while freezing and stuck in the mud. You and Grant did it right... with laughter!

Yea for homemade brownies and fun playdates with friends... oh, and mud rooms with BIG sinks!
