Pushing Too Hard

Yes, I am guilty of pushing too hard sometimes!! Grant has three goals right now: writing his name, knowing his letters and sounds, and recognizing numbers 1-10. He has accomplished writing his name and can do it pretty well!! After lunch today Grant and I were working on letters and sounds. He didn't really want to do it, so I tried to explain how important his letters and sounds were by telling him that when we learn them all we can put the letters together to make words and eventually learn to READ!! So, we were putting three letters together to make a word such as mom and dad. The last word we put together was mop. He then said, "I am so confused." I could tell he was tired and it was rest time! So, we walked up the stairs to take a nap and a large bug flew down the stairs. He said, "Look, it is a flop, I mean mop, ohhhh I mean fly!!" Look how flustered I had him! Poor guy! It was pretty funny, and we both laughed! He is such a great kid!! :)

Grant, now your mommy understands how her mommy felt when she was trying so hard to teach her right and left and also her address before she started kindergarten. I have a great idea.
Why don't you and Grady come live with nini and papa.I love you Grant and I know you will be a great learner and reader. I don't think your mommy ever learned her left and right and I still worry about that now. Can you teach her for me? love nini
