Do you remember the "100 Holes of Golf" that Gerald played in to raise money for Show Hope? Well, he and 17 other guys worked really hard and raised an amazing amount of support! So, last weekend Gerald and I had the privilege to give a check on behalf of the Show Hope Golf Classic and attend the Show Hope Fellowship Weekend in Franklin, TN! What a fun weekend!
~Friday night we were very excited to watch a pre-release of the movie, Blind Side! It comes out on November 20th and you must go see it! It is a touching, true story of adoption.
~Saturday morning we were led in praise and worship by SCC and received updates on what Show Hope is doing with Maria's Big House by Mary Beth. We also listened to several stories of those who received grants from Show Hope to complete their adoptions! What a blessing!
~Saturday afternoon we were privileged to go to the Sound Kitchen recording studio and listen to SCC's new album! In between some of the songs, SCC would explain where the song was recorded and tell us a "behind the scene" of the song. The new album is very emotional as it was written out of the grief of losing Maria. It also speaks of the hope and joy that comes in the morning. It is beautiful!!
~Saturday night we attended the Show Hope Dinner. We listened to the Children of the World International Children's Choir. Several of the children are orphans, and they are from all around the world. They raise awareness for orphans and make a very joyful noise! Their voices are beautiful, and I think I cried for the the 10th time that weekend as they sang! They sang as a group and with SCC. Mary Beth and Geoff Moore gave more updates and a few more adoptive families were highlighted. Then Wes Stafford, president and CEO of Compassion International, spoke. WOW, he is an amazing speaker and man of God! We were so honored to listen to this man who is a true advocate for the least of these! Compassion just sponsored their one millionth child!!! It was a very powerful and inspiring night!
Gerald with SCC and I am with SCC's sweet mom!

SCC and the Children's Choir

And.... A highlight of my night.... I got to meet Lindsey Wheeler, a fellow blogging friend! We, among many others, prayed Lindsey and Chris's daughter, Eliana home from Guatemala! They are a beautiful family! It was so fun to meet her face to face!
The most hilarious part of the weekend was texting my good friend, Jenny, a play by play of the weekend! Since we talk daily about adoption and those adopting in the blogging world, she was thrilled to hear about which "famous bloggers" were at the dinner! We are just really inspired from fellow bloggers who really advocate for the least of these and spend their time making others aware of the 147 Million Orphans! Also hilarious, was the fact that Gerald and I used this weekend as our 10 year anniversary getaway weekend since we couldn't get away this summer. We did get away, but we spent our time with other adopted children! We would do it all over again! I must say that it was a perfect 10 year anniversary weekend as we prayed and discussed where our family is headed! We're not quite ready to adopt again, but it could happen in the future! For now we are enjoying our little treasures and helping raise awareness for the little treasures around the world that don't have mommies and daddies to love on them daily!
