Grady's First Day of School

It's hard to believe that our kids are growing up so fast. I know everyone says that, but it's very true. Grant started 1st grade last month and now our Grady 'Monster' (who wants to be nicknamed Scooter), started Pre-K today. Grady's been excited about school for a few weeks: he pretends to ride the bus, wear his backpack around the house, talks about school, and pretends to read books to us. I (Dad) had the honor of taking Grady to school on his first day. We had fun doing puzzles and making shapes with the Play-Doh. Next, Grady drew a picture of himself with a red mohawk, blue lips and gray ears. He's such a funny kid. Finally, we met Mom and Gilli at Steak 'n Shake for burgers and shakes (although Grady decided to have a hot dog).

Before school every morning, the boys ride their scooters around the cul-de-sac before the bus arrives.

Grady loves his mom!

Grady and Gilli are two peas in a pod. They entertain each other with giggles and weird conversations.

I love my little buddy. He certainly brings a spark to our lives.

SIDE STORY: Grady decided to throw some food at dinner this evening. Gretchen said to Grady in a stern voice, "Grady, we don't throw food, please apologize to the table" (referring to everyone around the table). Grady said, "I'm sorry" and then turned to Gretchen and said, "Why do I have to apologize to the table?" No one could keep a straight face including Gretchen.
