Celebrating A Life Well Lived

Gerald's grandma, Geraldine, went to be with the Lord on July 26th. She was a woman of the Lord who loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren! At her funeral, she was described as a woman very much like the woman in Proverbs 31. You can look up the exact scripture, but I found these 7 principles that quickly explains the Proverbs 31 woman...

Pursues an ongoing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Loves, honors, and greatly enriches the life of her husband, encouraging and supporting his leadership within his family and his church.

Nurtures the next generation, shaping and molding the children who will one day define who we are as a community and as a nation.

Creates a warm and loving environment for family and friends.

Is a faithful steward of the time and money God has entrusted to her.

Speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction as she encourages others and develops godly friendships.

Shares the love of Christ by extending her hands to help the poor and opening her arms to the needy.

As women, we can look to her as an example! Grandma will greatly be missed, but we have peace in knowing that she is walking with the Lord, and we will see her again in Heaven!

A recent pic of Gerald's Grandpa and Grandma at grandpa's 90th b-day party! Ernest will miss her so much!

Grandma was famous for her quilts! She made every single person in the family a blanket!! She has sure kept us warm over the years!! Gerald and I have two large jean blankets that we use often! Grant, of course, has a tractor blanket! Grady has a sports blanket, and Gillian has a precious pink blanket! They are seriously the softest warmest blankets we own! We hold them very dear!!

What an amazing woman who is now home! Your post was so sweet; made me teary-eyed. Sweet pictures with the blankets, too.

Sending you all heartfelt sympathies on the passing of your dearly loved Grandma. Praying your memories of her will be sweet and lasting until you meet in heaven again. What a beautifully written tribute - and what wonderful quilts to cherish!

I am sorry for you loss. I love that you each have a quilt...you can wrap yourself up in it and remember. So sweet.

We should all strive to be a little more like our grandmothers.
