It just happened too fast! We feel like she just came home, and now she is already a year old?!! We felt so blessed to be able to spend her first birthday with her! I spent the days leading up to her birthday thinking about her actual birth. I spent time thanking God for the great gift he gave us and for the sacrifice of the birth mother. I pray that Gilli's birth mommy feels peace and knows her daughter is SO loved! She just fits in our family! She is funny and spunky, but she is also sweet and cuddly! Gilli has a special and unique bond with every one of us!
Since we were on vacation with Gerald's family on her actual birthday(Aug. 4th), we had a family meal and cake to celebrate her first year of life. My sister-in-law, Amber helped me prepare pork tenderloin, sweet potatoes, fresh cut pineapple, and salad. Gillian loved every bite, especially the sweet potatoes! She ate them by the handfuls!! She is quite a good eater!!!
She enjoyed having HAPPY BIRTHDAY sung to her!!
Gillian had a little help from the brothers and mommy with blowing out the candle.

Present time... WOW, I got my very own Colts Jersey from Grandma and Grandpa!!
Happy first birthday Gillian Claire Mishel! We love you sweet pea!! We are so blessed to have you in our family and thank God for you everyday! We are having another party for her on Saturday with my side of the family so there will be even more first birthday pictures to come...

I am so glad to see some pics from your trip and from Gilli's b-day. Now I know you are alive again. :) I'm sure you have been super busy with getting home from vaca and getting Grant ready to start school. Gilli looks adorable in these pics! I can't believe she is one already!
Happy Birthday to Gillian!!! I have been having a lot of the same thoughts as Marla nears her first birthday. We are all so excited to meet Gillian when we come to IN next week. It looks like so much fun to be ONE!
