Yep, Gillian is wearing a boy outift! And yep, those are stained bananas that she had for breakfast on the front of her shirt! :) Please don't think I am complaining, though! Thanks to my fellow FTIA friends and fellow blog friends, we have clothes on Gillian that are clean(well, until the bananas!)! We are so thankful for everyone's generosity! It is humbling, but wonderful!
We had to cancel our Antigua trip! Bummer!! We did, however, take Gillian out to the GC markets and bought a few things! Jenny, I got your Guatemalan soccer jerseys! YAY for finding those! We also picked up a few fun things for Gillian and essentials such at toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant. I also bought some flip flops because my feet were so hot!
So I have to confess that not having our luggage here is mostly my fault. Well, mine and Continentals! Let's not forget their part in this! ;) Anyway, as we were running to our airplane, I yelled out to Gerald, "I don't even care if our luggage makes it there, I just want to get there to see my daughter TODAY!!" Yep, I really said that! And really, I still feel that way! We are just happy to be here with Gillian! She is too cute, even in boy clothes! Her hair is so long, that no one even thinks she is a boy anyway. It's so pretty! I did buy her a clip to keep it out of her face.
The official word on our luggage.... LOST!! They have no idea where it went! GREAT! It could be in another country!! What is crazy is how much time I spent planning and packing those darn suitcases! All the bows, cute Gap outfits, shoes, baby food, bottles, bottle warmer, gifts for the foster family, and on and on and on... are all lost! My guess is that we won't see those suitcases on this trip! So guess what... We will be showing up to the Embassy in jeans...GASP!! :) The big NO NO!! But, what can we do, right? We are just enjoying our daughter and trying not to worry about STUFF! And that is exactly what it is.... STUFF!! But, if you feel led, you can still pray that our STUFF is found! I know I am!!

Girls look pretty in blue too! Enjoy your trip and maybe your suitcases will beat you home!
Oh, I am cracking up reading your post and your attitude about all of this. When we went to Greece a couple of years ago the airlines lost our luggage for two days and I thought I was going to lose my mind. We were with Ben's company and had to go to a formal dinner the first night there in jeans. It was horrible. I feel your pain. I cannot imagine trying to care for a baby without all of her gear. You are seem to be keeping things in perspective.
And Gillian is seriously adorable!! Even in her sweet blue outfit. Thanks so much for getting the jerseys for me. I can't wait to see the kids in them!
Love,
Jenny
OH NO!!! Well the good news is that you will most likely be compensated for your inconvience, right? You are a good sport about everything! There is an Old Navy in the Grand Tikal mall.
Nolan is freaking out...be back later! :) Hopefully your luggage is found soon!
Yep, she is the cutest thing ever!! I am praying for your luggage....how frustrating!! But, wow, your attitude is AMAZING!!! I think I would be so crabby. Keep having a blast....and posting pics. We love them!!
