Our last full day in MI was also my birthday! Gerald made it very special for me by taking our family out to lunch, to an ice cream parlor and a very fun candy store in the little town of Pentwater. I even got to browse an antique store for 5 minutes with no kids! :)

Oh, how could we resist this face? Yep, she got some candy!! Grant asked why they each got to pick out multiple candies, and I replied, "It's my birthday and I want to buy my kids candy!" :)
After we left Pentwater, we drove to Lake MI and the kids played in the waves, rolled down the sandy hills and played in the sand. The kids used up so much energy here that Grady and Gillian slept for an hour in the car while we drove to buy fresh salmon for dinner at an old fish market in the middle of nowhere! What a fun day!!

We basically had to push her in the water! After a few tears, she had so much fun! She splashed, kicked the water, and even stuck her face in! 
So the funniest part of the day was when the boys decided to roll down a ginormous sandy hill! Even Gerald joined in on the fun!! Rollin'...

A seriously great day! Gerald grilled salmon and had a chocolate fudge cake made for dessert! I couldn't have had a better birthday!! Love you guys!!

That sounds like a perfect birthday. I love little old Candy stores. We have one near us and I take they kids there a little too often but it is just so cool.

Oh my goodness, I just peed a little reading about you peeing. Looks hilarious! Are you sure that's root beer, Gretch? Looks a bit shady to me? I may call CPS. Wish you would've posted this on your actual birthday so I wouldn't have felt like such a jerk for "not getting in touch with you" for 2 days. :) You are Gerald are so darling together. Love you all!
