Our Prayer Has Been Answered

Today, I was relaxing and watching TV with my two boys, when Grant leaned over to me and said very quietly, "Mom, I asked my class to pray that Gillian gets out of PGN today. So we prayed for her!!" I started crying and said, "Oh Grant, thank you so much! I know God heard your prayer!" I was so overwhelmed that my child's preschool class prayed for Gillian to get out of PGN. I mean, they probably had no idea what they were even praying for, but it is a common prayer in our house and Grant knew!

It wasn't even two hours later, that my coordinator called me to tell me that PGN had released our case! We were out!! I cried and questioned her, because I just couldn't believe it! She was very patient with me and assured me that we were truly out! She said that we could pick Gillian up in 5-7 weeks! How amazing is that?!!! We are beyond thrilled! Grant was thrilled to hear that his prayer had been answered!!! He shouted, "My sister is coming home!!!" When we told Grady, he said, "Can I have some sprite?":) Gerald and I are just ecstatic and can't wait to go to Guat again to hold her in our arms and bring her home!!!

My heart is filled right now with great joy! At the same time, though, it is heavy. There are so many more babies that need to come home!!! Two babies that are heavy on my heart right now are named Bella and Eli. Can you all please help me pray these babies home?!!! They have been waiting for so long and their wonderful families just need them home! Please, please take a moment and pray for them right now!

Here is how we celebrated as a family tonight...Ice Cream

I CANNOT stop thinking about how happy I am for you guys since you called me this afternoon! I started crying just reading your post even though I already knew that you had gotten out. Gillian is coming HOME! What a great day. Getting your referral and getting out of PGN are two very special days...and of course, PICKING UP your baby forever is amazing. Can't wait to meet her in person so soon. And Beckett can't wait to meet his future wife! :)
Love you, Jenny

What great news. We are so
happy we spent last night calling
our friends and loved ones to share
the news. Of course, it was an
extra blessing to share Grant's
experience in prayer with everyone.
We will share with our Bible study
group tonight.

God is Good. We can't wait to
meet Gillian in person. Looking
forward to lots of family time
together.

Praise God!!!! This is so wonderful. I probably checked your blog at least 5 times yesterday just hoping the status would change. Something was in the air. :) You're doubly blessed to have a praying child and another one that's coming home. I, too, have a few things I'd like to have Grant's class pray for. :) Anyway, congratulations! Now it's time to pick a paint color! :)

We can't wait to wrap our arms around our little Gilli Bean. The next five weeks won't go by fast enough. I woke up this morning and said to Daddy, "we need to get another high chair!" Now we have some serious shopping to do Gretch, so when do you want to get started? Grant's prayer was so special but of course so is he so God just couldn't ignore a child's sweet request for his baby sister. Thank you God and please bring Bella and Eli home soon too. Congratulations Gretchen and Gerald and your family of five! Love Mom and Dad

This is SO exciting - congratulations!! I am thrilled for you, and I love the story about the preschoolers praying - so sweet. We laugh at how much my three little ones here know about Guatemalan politics :)
